Wild Crafted Home: Workshops, Events, Life Lately & What’s new in the Webshop
Hello friends,
It’s been a while since we last wrote—about a year, actually. Time moves in strange ways, and here we are again, stepping into a new season with fresh plans and ongoing projects.
This newsletter is a small offering: a glimpse into what we’ve been up to, what’s ahead (we have a lot of workshops and events to tell you about!!!), and what’s been holding our attention lately.
Workshops & Gatherings
As the seasons shift, so do our hands back into teaching and gathering. We have some workshops & events coming up that we’re excited to share—opportunities to slow down, work with your hands, and learn alongside others. See our full schedule with links to join here. Check our more events at the bottom of this email.

Life Lately
The past year has been full—of change, growth, and settling deeper into this place we now call home. One of the biggest shifts is that I, Raleigh, was approved for three years of Swedish residency, which, if you didn’t know, had been weighing heavily on us for the last two and a half years. The relief of that has been immense, allowing us to breathe a little deeper and think further ahead.
Our business and community is slowly growing and becoming more rooted here in Sweden. The warmth and welcome we’ve received have meant everything, and building community has been one of the brightest parts of our lives. A big part of that has been our Svegsvarv parties and other skills gatherings. We hosted two turning weekends last year and plan for two more this year (get in touch if you’re keen to come). We are also heading into our thrid year of cohosting Borkfest, and we are returning to our original festival Von Hand Festival in western Germany. These gatherings have become something special and the highlights of our year, a space for sharing skills, stories, and good food.
Outside the workshop, our garden continues to expand. This year, we’ve added another large bed and plan on starting a plot for growing our own broomcorn (kvastdurra); another step toward growing more of what sustains us and our business. And inside the workshop (and around the home), we’ve had some extra hands helping out during the first part of the year (huge gratitude to Merel), which has given us the time to give the space a much-needed facelift. We’re shaping it into a place that can hold more—more making, more teaching, more gathering. More on that soon :)
As always, we find ourselves in rhythm with the materials we work with, learning through repetition and surprise. The process of making is never separate from the rest of life—it’s all woven together.
Shop Update
We haven’t been making as much lately, but the shop has been evolving in other ways. One of the biggest changes is that our brooms are now available with custom color choices, letting you tailor them to your space and style.
Beyond what we make, we’ve also been adding tools and resources to support your own learning and making. You’ll now find:
• A new broom-making book for those wanting to dive into the craft (also check out a new how video by yours truly!)
• Carving knives to get started (or keep going) with spoon carving
• Sharpening files to keep edges keen
• And more, with thoughtful additions to come
Meanwhile, we’re slowly building up our woodenware stock in preparation for upcoming spring markets. If you’ve been waiting for new bowls or spoons, they’re in the works.
Take a look at what’s new:
Events This Year

Mark your calendars!
What We’re Paying Attention To
There’s so much happening in the world right now—so much fear, urgency, and a deep drive to make change. It can feel overwhelming, not knowing where to direct energy, how to help, or if anything we do is enough.
I keep coming back to this: working with our hands, crafting, making art with natural materials, gathering in community—these are not small things. They are acts of resistance. Acts of perseverance. Anti-war actions. In a world that often pushes for speed, disconnection, and destruction, creating something with care is a radical choice. Sharing a love of craft, tending to traditions, and making space for others to do the same—these are ways we hold onto what matters.
Of course, there is always more we can do, and we do encourage taking action. But in the push for change, let’s not leave behind the practices that connect us—to our bodies, to the land, to each other. These are not separate from activism; they are part of it.
Until Next Time
Thank you for being here, for reading, for supporting handmade things in a fast-moving world.
If you have questions, thoughts, or just want to say hello, we always love hearing from you.
We are so grateful you are here,
Raleigh, Oliver & Leo of course
